A company page
One company, one screen, a row of tabs. This page walks through them in order.
The head of the page
The top of the page names the company, its ticker, its exchange and the currency it is quoted in. Next to that sit the current quote with the time it was taken, and the return over the range the chart is showing.
The chart
- Ranges. One day, one week, one month, three months, year to date, one year, five years.
- Types. Four of them, switched in the chart itself.
- Peers. Lay up to four other companies over the same chart to see who moved and who did not.
- Five years. Candles thin to one per week on that range, so the chart stays readable.
Any range you pick changes the return shown next to the price, because that return is the change over the range on screen.
The tabs
| Tab | What is on it |
|---|---|
| Overview | Key figures, revenue and net income per year, the current earnings per share, the company profile and what analysts expect. |
| Financials | Four sections of reported figures, revenue, operating income and net income per year, the margins and growth rates derived from them, the source of each snapshot and a CSV export. A metric can be sent straight to Compare. |
| Dividends | The dividend yield and the share count, where the company reports them. |
| Estimates | What analysts expect for revenue, operating income and net income, the current multiples and the price target, plus an exit scenario you set yourself from reported revenue and share count. |
| Peers | The company next to its competitors: multiples and growth side by side, editable groups, the mean of positive comparables, the premium on current multiples, a price index from a common start date and a CSV export. |
| Earnings | Reported revenue and the latest earnings per share, as a graph or a history, with filters, a period selection, the source of each figure, a CSV export and settings that are remembered. |
| Insider | Short interest, the share count, and the buys and sells reported by executives and directors in their filings. |
| News | Articles about this company. Links open at the publisher, in a new tab. |
| Compare | Up to four companies at once, on price and on six yearly figures, each with the time its source was read. |
| Research | Reported fundamentals and the filings themselves, with a filter per filing type, oldest first if you prefer, and a chart you can switch off. |
Three more tabs are listed in the same row: Insights, Options and Network. No source in this build supplies them, so there is nothing to read on them yet. An empty tab is not a company without options or without peers.
Note Where a tab draws an example rather than a company, it says so in the view. Where a figure was never reported, the cell shows a dash. Neither is a bug to report, although a figure you know was reported and is missing is.
See where a figure came from
Company figures are read from the filings a company submits itself. On the tabs that show them, a cell can open the document and the period it was taken from, so a number you doubt can be checked against the source rather than against another screen.
Currency
You pick a display currency in Settings. A price quoted in US dollars is converted with the reference rates of the European Central Bank. A price quoted in another currency is shown as quoted and labelled with that currency, because converting it twice moves it further from the market than leaving it alone.
Compare companies
To compare up to four companies:
- Open a company and go to Compare, or add a company from the Peers tab.
- Add the others, up to four in total.
- Choose the figure you want them held against.
The chart keeps the highest and the lowest point of every series even when it draws fewer points than the series has, so a spike does not disappear because a line was simplified.
