Settings reference
Every card in the settings of the terminal, in the order you meet it, and what each one changes.
Open settings
Press G and then the comma key, or choose Settings in the dock. The screen is a list of cards, and each card is described below in the order you meet it.
Profile
Your display name and your account reference. Both are covered under Your account.
Appearance
| Setting | Choices |
|---|---|
| Theme | Light or dark. |
| View | Default or compact. Compact fits more rows on the screen. |
| Greeting | The line that welcomes you on Home. |
Content language
Your choice applies across the whole interface and is kept for the next time you sign in.
Source material keeps the language it was published in. Company names, headlines and filings are not translated, because translating them would change what they say.
Only languages that have a catalogue are offered. Translations that have not been reviewed by a native speaker are marked as such. If a language fails to load, the terminal keeps the one you had and tells you.
Keyboard
Both shortcut maps can be changed here, or switched off. Giving a key that is already taken to another destination swaps the two rather than silencing one. The maps themselves are listed under Keyboard and search.
Plan and billing
Your plan, your payment method and your invoices. The card shows the subscription status, the billing period, the recorded price, the renewal date and any scheduled change. See Payment and invoices.
AI credits
What is left of your monthly credits, what is left of the credits you bought, the packs on offer and your recent orders. See StockLife AI.
Emails about your trial
One switch: Send me tips and reminders about StockLife by e-mail.
- It is off unless you turn it on, and turning it off takes effect at once. Every message also carries a link that stops them.
- Two messages are sent whatever you choose, because they are owed to you: the terms when a trial starts, and a reminder two days before the first payment.
- With the switch on, you also get news about the Beta Circle on the third day of a trial.
- All messages are sent through Resend, in the EU, as our processor.
If no verified email address is known for the account, nothing is sent to it. The same is true if a previous message bounced or was reported as spam.
Usage statistics and session replay
Two switches, both off unless you turn them on.
- Usage statistics and error diagnostics. PostHog, in the EU, receives pages, actions, durations, language and technical errors with the details stripped out. While you are signed in, the events are linked to your account ID. No names, emails, financial data or assistant questions are sent.
- Session replay. A masked recording of the interface, to diagnose a problem. Text, inputs, images and charts are hidden.
Turning statistics off stops the reporting at once, deletes the identifier of that device and sends nothing further. The choice applies to the device you made it on.
Legal information
Links that open the published documents in a new tab: the privacy policy, the terms, the right of withdrawal and how to cancel. They exist in German and English, and Spanish and French open the English version.
Help and contact
Opens your email program with our address. The terminal does not send the message for you.
The same card holds a short list of answers about plans, the assistant, market data, your account and what the terminal cannot do. Problem reports go to the feedback review queue, so use email for private account questions.
Connection check
Press Check connection and the terminal reports whether this device can reach the terminal gateway, with the time it took.
Note The check covers the gateway and nothing else. It does not verify market data, the assistant, your account or the payment service, and a connection that works does not mean the data behind it is fresh.
Account
Sign out, download your data, delete the account. All three are under Your account.
