Keyboard and search
The terminal is built for the keyboard. Two keys take you anywhere, and one opens the search.
Open the search
Press Ctrl and K, or Command and K on a Mac. One box finds companies, screens and settings. Arrow keys move through the results, Enter opens one and Esc closes the box.
On this website the same shortcut opens a search over the pages, and / opens it as well. It tolerates a typo, so a search for a calculator still finds it when a letter slipped.
Go to a screen
Press G, then the letter of the screen. The second key has to follow within about a second.
| Keys | Screen |
|---|---|
| G H | Home |
| G T | Terminal, the company page |
| G W | Watchlist |
| G S | Screener, the stock finder |
| G N | News |
| G C | Calendar |
| G A | Analysis |
| G comma | Settings |
Go to a tab of a company
Press V, then the letter of the tab.
| Keys | Tab |
|---|---|
| V O | Overview |
| V F | Financials |
| V D | Dividends |
| V E | Estimates |
| V P | Peers |
| V R | Earnings |
| V I | Insider |
| V N | News |
| V C | Compare |
| V A | Research |
Use a dialog with the keyboard
- Tab and Shift with Tab move between the controls.
- Enter or Space presses the control you are on.
- Esc closes the dialog that is open.
Change the keys
Settings lets you change both maps, or switch them off. If you give a key that is already taken to another destination, the two swap places rather than one of them going quiet.
Note Shortcuts pause while you type in a field, while a select is open and while a dialog is in front of you. A W typed into a search box is a letter, not a jump.
